October 4 is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis (1182-1226) was a monk who founded the contemporary order of Franciscans. He was known for his vow of poverty and his special connection to animals, among many other things.
On Sunday, October 13, at the beginning of the worship service, we will celebrate Saint Francis of Assisi with a Blessing of the Pets. Please bring your fish, caged animals, well-behaved dogs or cats, or pictures of animals that you want to have blessed.
